The cove where l'Illa Mateua is located is located between the Punta dels Cinc Sous (west) and the Punta del Romaní (east). Punta del Romaní, popularly known as the Depuradora, is accessible from the coast without too much complication. Following the wall on the right, the first thing we find is a small tunnel at about -6 meters, full of colors, where you can see everything from crustaceans to some conger eels.

When leaving the tunnel, the dive can be done in two ways: the first consists of following the wall where we will find a series of quite interesting tunnels, and the second is to head out to sea until you find a small underwater mountain ranging from -17 meters to -12 meters. This dive is always surprising, since, with a little luck, you can see various seahorses, as well as a great diversity of nudibranchs.

Cala Mateua, with its proximity to the town of l'Escala, offers an exceptional diving experience, combining the natural beauty of its tunnels and rock formations with the rich marine biodiversity of the region. This dive site is suitable for divers of all levels, providing both tranquility and adventure in the crystal clear waters of the coast of l'Escala.
