Steeper rocky ledges covered in sponges make Halifax one of Nelson Bay's most popular sites for deeper and advanced diving. The "Twin Bommies" (20m) feature a vibrant carpet of sponges, gorgonians, and ascidians. Maximum depth is approximately 26m. The best time to dive is during incoming or slack high tide.
